Trouble Shooting

EmulX connection closed by foreign host

- You will see this message if you loose your modem connection.

- To reconnect your modem click on Session → Connection → Connection.

- You will have to login again.

The Host Line is Busy

- The collection agency’s modem you are trying to call is busy.

- You must try again later when the line is free.

- If you close the TUN window you will have to start the configuration over again from

the first step.

- If you do not close the window you can force the modem to dial again by clicking on

Session → Connection → Connection.

Connection Timed Out (or any other message)

- You may not always be able to connect on the first attempt. Try connecting again by

clicking on Session → Connection → Connection.

- If after a couple more attempts you are still unable to connect you should ensure that

the collection agency’s modem is plugged into the phone line. Some collection

agencies unplug their modem so that they can use the line for the Internet or fax. If

you are an offsite client you will have to call the collection agency in question to

make sure that their modem is connected and online.

- If you are still unable to connect, Porcupine Computers should be contacted for

support (see support options above).

Useful Tips

- On the toolbar you will See a big ‘A’ with a purple up arrow beside it, followed by a

little ‘A’ with a purple down arrow beside it. These buttons will enlarge or shrink the

terminal window. Play with these buttons until you get the window the size you want

it. Click on File → Save workspace to save your changes to the window size.
