TUN 10.0.1 Automatic Installation Instructions
NETWORK CONNECTION
- Insert the CD labeled TUN 10.0.1 Automatic Installation into the CD-ROM drive.
- Double click on MY Computer, then double click the CD-ROM drive, and finally double click
on NETWORK or network.BAT.
- A window titled Serialization will appear. Enter your serial number and activation key (See
Obtaining Your Activation Key above for instructions on obtaining you key). Please
note: Each computer on the network running TUN must have its own serial number
and activation key. If you use the same serial number and activation key on two
computers, a message will appear warning you about the duplicate key. This message
will pop up about every 5 to 10 minutes while you are running the TUN emulator.
- Click on Next after you have entered the serial number and activation key.
- TUN 10.0.1 will now automatically install.
- After installation has completed a window titled Setup Complete will appear. Click
on Finish. TUN 10.0.1 is now installed on your PC.
- There should be a Porcupine shortcut on your desktop. You can change the name of this
shortcut if you wish (refer to Windows help for instructions on renaming shortcuts).
The shortcut’s icon is a hand holding three blocks.
- Double click on the Porcupine shortcut.
- You may want to maximize the TUN window if it is too small. There are three
buttons at the top right corner of the TUN window. Click on the middle one to
maximize.
- Click on TOOLS → options. You should now see a Settings window.
- Uncheck the Show splash screen at startup and confirm the session removal options.
- Under Save on Exit, select Never.
- Click on the OK button to close the setting window.
- Click on File → Save Workspace to save your changes.
- TUN 10.0.1 is now properly configured.
- You should now see a login prompt. If you do not see a login prompt, hit the enter
key and one should appear.
- If you get a login prompt, login as you normally would from any other terminal.
- If you do not get a login prompt contact Porcupine Computers for support (see
support options above).
